Hi! My name is Jenny and I am the baker and photographer behind bake me smile.

I grew up in the restaurant business, but never knew how to bake.  My love for baking began in middle school when I was asked to bake cookies for a bake sale.  With the help of a friend, I bought four rolls of Pillsbury chocolate chip cookie dough.  Despite the labeled buttons on the oven, I didn’t know how to use it.  I think I was afraid to use it.  After setting the temperature and forming the cookie dough, I had perfect chocolate chip cookies in just ten minutes.  Then, I placed the cookies on a plate, one on top of another.  The next morning, I had one big cookie.  No one told me you had to let cookies cool so they all stuck together!  This experience sparked my love for baking.

Over the next few years, I found myself researching what baking was all about.  I bookmarked countless recipes, drooled over beautiful food photography, and spent hours on food blogs.  To this day, I still spend a lot of time researching several recipes before I actually make it.

I created this blog to share my favorite recipes and kitchen adventures.  I have also included reviews of my favorite restaurants and created recipes of my own.

I named my blog “bake me smile” because I love making people smile by sharing the foods I cook/ bake.  A simple cupcake can instantly brighten someone’s day!

I love recipes with ingredients I already have on hand, and taking pictures of everything, especially food!  I also admire the power of food.  Not only does it keep us alive, but it brings people together. There’s nothing like sharing a meal with your family and closest friends!
